MacDonald Oates LLP chooses local charity as its Charity of the Year
Local charity, TLC has been chosen by staff at MacDonald Oates to be its nominated Charity of the Year for 2012.
TLC, which stands for Tending, Listening and Comforting, is a small local charity which provides a befriending service for people in the community with life limiting conditions, their carers and families. The charity also fund raises to provide free complementary therapies for clients and carers.
Over the past year, volunteers have been recruited, covering areas as far afield as Farnham, Headley, Liphook, Bordon and Petersfield, Midhurst and Alton.
Jenny Croucher, PR and Marketing Co-ordinator, commented “TLC are delighted to have been chosen by MacDonald Oates as their Charity of the Year, and to be recognised in Petersfield for the work that we are doing. It is a huge boost for our profile and will raise awareness for all that we are aiming to do in the local community. We are very grateful for the support from MacDonald Oates.”
Patrick Jenkins, a Partner at MacDonald Oates said “This is a charity which is firmly rooted in the local community which we also service and the work it does can help so many people in so many different ways. We will be looking to raise as much money as possible for this great cause over the course of the year”.
TLC desperately needs to recruit volunteers to provide a free respite and service to adults who need company or practical assistance and to give their carers a break. TLC is also looking for volunteers who would be willing to help out with funding raising at local events or to help distribute the charity’s collecting boxes to shops and local businesses. The charity is therefore looking for people who can help or get involved, whilst they would also like to hear from anyone who could benefit from the charity’s work; someone who is being cared for at home who suffers from limiting conditions and needs a friend or their carer who might need some respite time.
