Employment law update: increase in limits from April 2020

From 6 April 2020 legislation will increase compensation limits and other statutory payments.

Compensation limit

Maximum limit on a weeks pay will increase from £525 to £538.

Maximum compensatory award at an Employment Tribunal will rise from £86,444 to £88,519.

Statutory rates of pay

Sick pay will increase from £94.25 per week to £95.85.

The rate for maternity pay, paternity pay, adoption pay and shared parental pay will increase from £148.68 per week to £151.20.
