Pre- & Post-Nuptial Agreements

CORONAVIRUS

We remain fully open to help with family law issues during the current global outbreak of the Coronavirus, COVID-19. All of our family law solicitors are working as normal using remote access technology and we can arrange appointments by telephone and video call, as an alternative to face to face meetings. We can also arrange appointments outside of normal working hours, as we understand the lockdown can make it even harder than usual to consult solicitors on sensitive family law matters

In line with current government advice, our offices in Petersfield and Midhurst remain open and operational although we are operating with a reduced staff level on the ground and only able to admit to our offices clients who have pre-booked an appointment. All of our lawyers have access to secure cloud based technologies for emails and telephone calls and video conferencing, which enable them to work remotely and conduct meetings accordingly.

You can continue to contact us, as normal, by phone, email and video conferencing and where essential pre-book a face to face meeting in the office. We remain fully committed to delivering a high level of client service, tailored to your individual needs.

Preparing a pre- or post-nuptial agreement might seem like tempting fate, or suggesting you  do not have confidence in your relationship. However, more and more couples are seeing it for what it really is: a simple financial agreement that can potentially save you both enormous amounts of cost and heartache if things  do not work out. A pre- or post-nuptial agreement is not automatically binding, but the courts are increasingly upholding them in divorce and civil partnership dissolution cases.

Our Family Law team is highly experienced in preparing pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and can advise you on drawing up something that works for you both. We understand it can be a delicate subject, but you can be confident that  we will handle it in a sensitive, professional and objective manner, to keep things on the right footing.

To discuss whether a pre- or post-nuptial agreement is right for you, and how to go about drawing one up, please contact us and one of our Family Law specialists will be happy to help.
